Magyar Levente: Hungary continues to support Ukraine
Hungary will continue its humanitarian, social and economic support to Ukraine and Transcarpathia within it, said the parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Ungvár on Monday, during his meeting with the governor of Transcarpathia.
Transcarpathia and Ukraine will not be left without help, Hungary will do everything it can to reduce the suffering of the Ukrainian people, according to its ability and economic strength, the politician said. The parties reviewed Hungary’s aid policy in Subcarpathia. Governor Viktor Mikita highlighted his thanks for the help the Hungarian Ecumenical Charity provides ongoing, well-organized support, through which 250 institutions in Transcarpathia alone receive and care for internally displaced persons.Substantial preparations have begun to deliver the grain stuck in Ukraine.We are freeing up the capacities to allow the Ukrainian grain accumulated here to leave Ukraine for Hungary and reach the world markets– said the state secretary. For this, Hungary needs to implement major developments within a short period of time, and the schedule is being agreed with the leaders of Subcarpathia, he said.
This work could lead to Hungary becoming one of the most important corridors for Ukrainian grain to the world Levente Magyar added. According to the plans, during the talks in Lviv and Kyiv, Magyar Levente will discuss practical issues with his Ukrainian partners, as well as – as he put it – “important announcements are expected in connection with the reconstructions around Kyiv”, in which Hungary will also take part.
