Judo Bond Nederland – Twice bronze at World Games: Ecco van der Veer
On the second and last day of the jiu-jitsu tournament at the World Games, Ecco van der Veer (-62 kg) managed to conquer the bronze. Also the team bronze in the national competition.
In the group stage, Ecco first faced a Kazakhstani jiu-jitsuka. He immediately won this match. He won his second group match on a full ippon, but nevertheless progressed to the semi-finals. Herein was a score of 14-14 profits to his Ukrainian tax. In the final for the bronze, van der Veer managed to secure a bronze medal.
Get used to the tournament by participating in the Nations League. In the first game, the quarterfinals, Colombia won with a walkover. We met France in the semi-finals. Anne van der Brugge battle match against it went on for a long time. In the end France went through with the win, above Géneviève Schouten the last party could not fight.
In the battle for the bronze they competed against Denmark. Ecco van der Veer was the first to turn and immediately won (13-4). Boy Vogelzang continued this line, but it became exciting towards the end (6-4). Géneviève Schouten made it 3-0 by winning with a full ippon due to a strangulation. In the fourth match, Aafke van Leeuwen brought the score to 4-0. Finally, the mixed duo part was on the program. For this part, a duo of Montenegro came out for the Netherlands. After the match, the duos were tied in points (69-69). A deciding game resulted in a 0.5 point difference for the Netherlands, making the final score 5-0 for the Netherlands.
