VIDEO. July 14 concert in Toulouse: the heat did not stop the revelers
The traditional concert of July 14 in Toulouse and its fireworks fail their big comeback. The peak at 38°C at the end of the evening did not stop the festivities.
Despite the heat wave, the national holiday took place. And, this year, two water walls, around twenty fountains and three misting gantries were installed, bottles were exceptionally authorized and more than 130 first-aiders were deployed so that the public can enjoy the shade without fear of heatstroke. .
The first notes were pink. The first part show, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., was offered by artists from Toulouse. Break’in School, Lisaa Camin, DJ Matt Mendez and Cyprien warmed up an already sweaty audience. Despite the 38°, the choice of the municipality to shift the start time was a winner: the heat seems almost bearable away from the rays. “We have been coming for 4 years, and there is only pleasure, we do not feel the temperature”, testifies a group of high school students.
“You see it’s amazing”
On the stage, Cauet, the famous animator, puts on a show. “On a beautiful having two million listeners, you see it’s incredible”. In front of him, the crowd is huge, compact and relatively static. Despite a certain good will, the hands in the air come alive more than the bodies. In the crowd, Caroline, 42, dreams of misters at the bottom of the plain. But there is no question for her of missing the rapper Dadju, her favorite, who does not fail to electrify the public as soon as he arrives.
Difficult for Camélia Jordana to continue then. His music is softer, and the audience less reactive. “Normally you are there, I need you, I swear you will like it”. She gives voice however, alone on stage, closer to the crowd, in front of a breathtaking view of the Garonne in the declining day. After her, the other artists of the NRJ Music Tour follow one another. Jérémy Frérot (of the Fréros Delavega), the Australian duo Shouse, the rappers Hatik then Tayc, Yanns and Lujipeka, the former Columbine.

But not everyone is there for the music. Naomi, 23, lit “Call me by your name” on a sheet. “I didn’t know there was a concert, I’m here for the fireworks!”. Not far away, a couple has set up their tent at the water’s edge for the same reason. They are bringing their seven month old baby boy. “It’s a tradition. We initiate him into good habits!”
Explosive parties color the sky in the late evening. They are accompanied by science-fiction music as well as excerpts from communications from space missions, from Apollo to Space X. 24 rafts presented themselves in the middle of the Garonne to create a veritable wall of fireworks 500 meters long which lit up the whole sky of Toulouse.
