Toulouse: they cycle to Brussels to raise funds for cancer research
Christelle and Constance have decided to cycle from Toulouse to Brussels and raise funds for cancer research. You can support them with a donation or by offering them accommodation.
They should leave this Thursday, no later than 9 a.m., from the Cancer Research Center (CRCT), located at the Oncopole, in Toulouse.
At the handlebars of their respective bikes, Christelle Coessens and Constance Schaerer are preparing to reach Brussels, in about ten days, with a hundred kilometers to cover per day. “We are driving to raise funds for cancer research,” announces Christelle Coessens. This bubbly 42-year-old Belgian had this challenge in mind. “I spoke to Constance about it, who immediately told me: I’m excited to take up the challenge with you. It went like this! »
The two women met recently, “following Constance Schaerer’s appearance on a TV show where she explained that her aunt had given her a letter on the death of her father in which the latter asked her to scatter his ashes on the seven summits of the world. She has already done Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc. I thought it was completely crazy and I messaged her via Instagram,” says Chritselle. Constance’s father died of pancreatic cancer. As for Christelle, she is a sports coach for people with cancer. A disease that brings them together and for which they have decided, today, to surpass themselves through this journey by bike.
If they chose to leave Toulouse, “it’s because my former cycling partner, Mickaël Di-Luoffo, is a researcher at the CRCT on pancreatic cancer. Everything made sense,” rejoices Christelle. All they have to do is find accommodation on the road. To your good heart…
