Toulouse: but what happens to the carcasses of sheep and calves in the middle of the ring road?
This Wednesday evening, several Toulouse motorists hallucinated on returning home after a long day of work. Carcasses of sheep and calves were found on the roadway, at the La Faourette exit.
The scene is impressive. On this Wednesday, July 13, carcasses of sheep and calves cut the tracks of the Toulouse ring road in two, near the La Faourette exit.
Between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., hundreds of motorists hallucinate when they discover these dead animals on the road. “It’s disgusting, they were skeletons but the skin and hair was still visible. I was so captivated by this improbable image that I almost had an accident”, testifies Michel, a driver from Toulouse.
The driver does not notice anything
It all started when a truck transporting meat lost part of its load near the famous La Faourette exit. The truck driver did not even notice it and continued on his way towards Saint-Jory. It is at the height of this town located north of Toulouse that the police apprehended him. In particular, the security forces checked that all security measures relating to the load had been respected. After giving his identity, the truck driver seemed very surprised to have lost carcasses on the road. For obvious health reasons, the officials let him go back to Albi, in the Tarn. “But our investigations are continuing,” assures a Toulouse policeman.
The intervention carried out by road operation and maintenance agents lasted several hours, resulting in a significant slowdown in traffic. “There were a hundred vehicles stopped in front of me. I thought I was never going to get out,” says another car driver, passing through the area around 8:30 p.m.
