Toulouse is preparing the July 14 festivities. Three major events will be on the program: first the military parade, the morning. Then, in the evening, the NRJ Music Tour concert, prairie des Filtres, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with artists from Toulouse and stars such as Jérémy Frérot, Dadju or Camélia Jordana, followed by the traditional fireworks. The latter will be drawn on the Garonne between the Saint-Michel bridge and the Pont-Neuf, and will have space as its theme.
Disruptions for the military parade
On National Day, traffic will be severely disrupted. For the needs of the military parade, the following streets will be closed to traffic from 2 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday July 14, 2022:
- alley Jules-Guesde
- Rue Ozenne
- Rue du Languedoc (section rue J Félix – rue d’Alsace Lorraine
- Rue d’Alsace-Lorraine (section rue du Languedoc – rue de Metz)
- Boulevard du Maréchal Juin (from rue de la Chaussée towards and up to the allées Paul Feuga)
- Allées Paul Feuga (from the Saint Michel bridge to and up to the Place du Parlement)
The town hall of Toulouse indicates that “vehicles emerging from the Grand Rue Saint Michel will have to turn left towards the Paul Feuga alleys” and that “vehicles emerging from the Place du Parlement will have to turn right towards the Paul Feuga alleys “. As for “vehicles emerging from the Saint Michel bridge”, they will have the obligation to “turn right towards the boulevard du Maréchal Juin”.
What awaits you around the Filter meadow
The bulk of the disruption will take place in a wide perimeter around the Filter meadow. From 5 p.m., an adapted device will be set up with filtering airlocks (providing for searches and pat-downs) in the streets giving access to the concert and the fireworks. The main advice will be to avoid the rue de Metz / Saint-Cyprien-République axis as much as possible and to favor access to the city center via avenue Maurice Hauriou, that of the Grand Ramier or the Saint-Michel bridge and the Horseshoe.
