Murfy, the object repair company, launches its training academy
At a time when purchasing power is at half mast, and when ecological issues are on everyone’s lips, repairing your appliances is a solution of choice. L’Murfy Company understood it well. Thus, its technicians come to your home to repair your household appliances, all at a reasonable price.
In order to support the development of the company, Murfy has launched, in partnership with Pôle-Emploi, its own training school in Toulouse “to train and recruit job seekers and people retraining for the repair profession”, explains the company in a press release. The first promotion from Toulouse will begin training in early October.
Murfy trains its future technicians
The first recruitment sessions will take place between the beginning of July and the end of September. Applicants are invited to apply online on thecompany or via Pôle Emploi. Murfy will then proceed with the recruitment of candidates who will begin training in October.
At the end of their 6 months of training (3 months of theory in workshops and 3 months of practice in the field with experienced repairers as tutors), the trainees will be integrated into the Murfy teams on a permanent contract as a household appliance technician”, explains Murfy.
As a reminder, the murfy training was created in January 2021, this partnership between Murfy and Pôle-Emploi began in Paris, then Lyon, Lille and Nantes to reach, to date, the 12 promotions open. “There are 80 job seekers or people in professional retraining who have trained to become experts in household appliance repair and install Murfy teams on permanent contracts”, explains Murfy.
With the opening of this Promoting in Toulousethe SME would like its repair service teams to be available in the departments of Gers, Ariège, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Hautes-Pyrénées and Haute-Garonne.
Personalized follow-up
“The client makes an appointment on the internet, we have predefined questions that allow us to establish a more or less precise diagnosis” explains to The Independent OpinionGuillaume, Murfy technician in Toulouse since November 2019. On the company’s website, the customer can communicate the reference of his device or simply upload a photo of the product. From this request, the technician makes a “forecast” in which he warns the customer of a possible purchase of a part.
Most Murfy based on a fixed fee of 85 euros for any intervention. To this amount must be added the price of any new or second-hand spare parts necessary for the repair of the device. Nevertheless, “the final price is always lower than the purchase of a new product. And each repair is guaranteed for 6 months”, specifies Guillaume. Thanks to this online reporting system, technicians can, most of the time, repair a device in a single visit.
Primate of ecology
Since its inception in 2018, technicians have noticed an increase in demand. “In one day, I perform about 8 interventions per day”, says Guillaume. The ecological, but also economic interest has changed the situation. Consumers now favor reconditioning rather than new.
Fifteen years ago, people bought new appliances on the internet because the prices were very attractive. They then shunned the stores and the big brands because they considered that it was more commendable to buy a new product rather than to repair its device”, analyzes Guillaume.
Today, all businesses, including small artisans, have a website where they sell products at market prices. “With the rise in the price of raw materials, the price of new devices has increased considerably. Between ecology and economy, people therefore wanted the repair”, estimates the technician from Toulouse.
Thanks to this academy of training in Toulouse, the presence of technicians throughout the region should therefore be intensified. What to save money in repairing household appliances.
