“Democratic Bulgaria”: Radev to convene new consultations
“Democratic Bulgaria” calls on President Rumen Radev, if the mandate of “We continue the change” to form the government is declared unsuccessful, to hold another round of consultations for the government with the third mandate, after GERB categorically stated that it will return the second. “Democratic Bulgaria” also declares that it is ready to make every effort to realize the third mandate, if it is handed to him. These were the main messages of the leaders of the “Democratic Bulgaria” coalition, Hristo Ivanov, Atanas Atanasov and Vladislav Panev, who gave a briefing in the parliament on Friday at 10:30 a.m., the party’s press center informed.
Hristo Ivanov states that the best option is in the remaining hours of the term for the first mandate at 5 p.m. on Friday to make maximum efforts to implement it. The DB’s principled position is that the government with the first mandate is the most successful.
“It is in the interest of the country to have governance. Because the next period of one year will be key for dealing with the series of crises and for completing the integration of Bulgaria in the EU and NATO. This is the period in which we can take a decisive step towards the Eurozone, to Schengen, to complete the judicial reform and solve the problems, related to the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, the restart of the Bulgarian economy and exiting the trajectory of sustainable growth“, said the chairman of the DB parliamentary group. And he warned that if we miss this time period and instead of focusing on finding solutions, we throw the country into another round of consultations and political uncertainty, this can have an extremely negative impact on your future .
“We call on the president to hold a new round of consultations with all political forces in the parliamentin order to be able to establish who has the ability to form the government through dialogue,” said DB co-chairman Atanas Atanasov.
“Financial indicators in global markets show that the world is heading for a global recession. In the coming months, there is no need for strong leadership that will not emerge from the crisis. In the coming months, it will be decided which countries will gain from the crisis and which will lose. We are obliged to be on the side of the winners,” said the co-chairman of “Green Movement” Vladislav Panev.
Asked about DB’s behavior if the third mandate is handed over to BSP, Hristo Ivanov replied that the coalition’s bodies will make the appropriate decision.
“Any realistic chance of broadcasting management to continue the expectation of change should be taken seriously.” We cannot afford to close our doors. If the president decides so, we will very carefully consider this possibility,” said Ivanov.
