Launch weekend for the Toulouse Festival
The Toulouse Festival, subtitled “Concerts under the stars”, started on Friday July 9, 2022. It will last until July 24. Here is the schedule for this weekend.
It’s a new festival that sees the light of day this summer in the Pink City. The Toulouse Festival, for its first edition, is held from July 9 to 24. Many cultural events are given to Toulouse residents, and the programming is eclectic.
Locations also change. The big concert on July 16, the high point of the event, will be held at the Prairie des Filtres. Will be present Thomas Valverde, Julien Clerc and the National Orchestra of the Capitol of Toulouse driven by Yvan Cassaras well as Kavinsky.
But cine-concerts are also organized at the Toulouse cinematheque. And this weekend of July 9 and 10, like most of the concerts at the Toulouse Festival, the appointment is given at the Raymond IV garden.
First weekend of the Toulouse Festival
A piano and dance duo opened the festival on Friday, July 8. Simon Ghraichy and Dorothée Gilbert, star dancer of the Paris Operawere therefore the first artists in the history of the Toulouse Festival.
Saturday July 9 at 9 p.m., the group Natural Woman Band will make a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Gospel singers, blues and soul musicians will accompany singer Tatiana Gronti to perform the repertoire of the artist’s great hits.
Sunday July 10 at 11 a.m., place at “The Lviv Mandolin”, a musical tale. He will be recited by Julie Depardieualong with Julien Martineau on the mandolin, Clara Cernat on the violin (and writing), and Thierry Huillet on the piano (and on composition).
The first chapter of this story set in Lviv, Ukrainehad been created on France Musique in May 2021, and has resonated differently since the war broke out.
