Toulouse: three burglaries, 15 stolen computers and more than €120,000 in damage
The police found themselves in detention a man suspected of three burglaries, in Toulouse. The prejudice exceeds €120,000.
“It’s me.. At the time, I was addicted to crack….” And to pay for his doses of this very addictive drug, a 48-year-old marginalized man carried out several burglaries between the end of the month August 2019 and the end of 2020 in Toulouse.
The police officers of the right bank property skills unit managed to identify it thanks to the work of their colleagues in charge of the technical and scientific police. They had taken a sample which made it possible to identify DNA and trace the trail of the suspect who had already registered in a remand center in Albi.
And before investigators on Wednesday, while in police custody, he admitted his involvement in spectacular thefts. Indeed, he had first visited a doctor’s office specializing in dermatology. This “visit” had enabled him to take away a medical laser worth €80,000 but also another cryotherapy device billed for more than €10,000. Another very noticed theft, a raid on a travel agency where the same suspect seized fifteen laptops! Another computer device was stolen from a third company, such as a video projector.
Equipment probably resold on the parallel market for a few hundred euros.
These new offenses will lead to an additional conviction on an already particularly heavy criminal record.
