The Grand Relais applauded by the Lozériens of Paris
After the 48 hours of sports, placed under the sign of Olympism and Paralympism, organized by the departmental council and the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Lozère, on June 24 and 25, in Montrodat, the start of the Grand Relais was given on Saturday, June 25. The latter started at the Euromediterranean complex, in Montrodat and the finish was on Saturday July 2, at the Maison de la Lozère, in Paris.
This sporting challenge, which aims to promote the Terre de jeux 2024 label, obtained by Lozère, has enabled around fifty athletes, able-bodied or disabled, to surpass themselves. They took turns to achieve a great feat, in eight stages, on foot, by bike and in roller-skiing. This is how they traveled 600 km by bike, for some, and 150 km by running for others. They crossed Puy-en-Velay, Clermont-Ferrand, Moulins, Bourges, Orléans and Paris. The athletes were greeted with applause and cries of joy. Among the spectators were present officials of sports organizations, in particular, Vincent Bardou, director general of the Lozère Association for the fight against social evils, and Robert Gély, president of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Lozère.
