Andreas Brucker becomes the new Director of Development Youth for the Red Bulls’ offspring. Brucker, who has dedicated himself exclusively to the youngest ice hockey players in Salzburg, is looking forward to the new task: “I’m familiar with the task, as I was responsible for all the youngsters at the beginning of my time in Salzburg. Above all, it is very attractive work and a major goal that we are pursuing. In the first step we want to increase the number of local players, make the leap to the academy. In the next step, we want to see the professionals from Salzburg and the region lift the Carl Nedwed Trophy in the future. In cooperation with the partner teams, the region and the state of Salzburg should come into their own and the Salzburg location should shine more than before on the ice hockey youth map.”
The youth trainer team consists of Mathias Barth, Frank Seewald, Toni Walch and Daniel Welser, who after four years as an assistant trainer at the academy will be in charge of a youth team as head coach. The coaching team is supported by Gerald Lackner, Florian Vierthaler, Thomas Zeug, Andre Flatscher, Martin Barth, Klaus Karl, Tobias Bammer and Bastian Platten.
NEW FACES AT THE RED BULL HOCKEY ACADEMY
Gunter Oswald is the new Managing Director Academy & Youth at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. The 53-year-old most recently worked as a player’s agent and brings a lot of experience to the Red Bulls as a long-standing DEL professional, coach and official. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work in this exciting role for the Red Bulls. Everyone who knows me knows that I care about the youth and the development of young players. It is a privilege for me to work here at the Red Bull Academy together with Helmut de Raaf, Andreas Brucker, all the coaches and the entire staff, and to bring professional sports training and school together into harmony.”
Helmut by Raaf As Director of Development, he will continue to manage the sporting skills related to the training of the players. Janick dube, who, in addition to his work as a team trainer, has also written a lot individually with the players about skating and stick technique in recent years, will become the new skills trainer for the entire Red Bulls organization. Dubé works with the youngest academy players as well as with professionals from Salzburg and Munich.
In addition to the changes in the organizational area, there are also three additions to the coaching staff. Radek Krestan comes from Bad Nauheim, where he worked as a coach and youth supervisor for the last three seasons after his active playing career. In his first year, the 40-year-old looks after the U16 academy team. The Swede Sebastian Bystrom is moving from his home country to the Red Bulls, where he has worked as a youth coach at his home club MoDo HK for the past eight seasons. He will take care of the U20 academy team as head coach. The academy trainer team is completed by Tommi Rouvali. The 43-year-old has been with the EC Red Bull Salzburg youth team since 2015 and has held the position of Director of Development Youth for the past two years. At the academy he will work as an assistant coach for the U16 and U18 teams.
