Portugal had the worst month of June in hydroelectric production in the last 50 years
The hydroelectric production index in Portugal reached in June the most revealed value for the month that there are records, since 1971, this Monday REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais, in a lower communicator than the electrical production from 1971 onwards. gas and electricity levels also hit record.
“The highly dry low-cost hydroelectric regime, with a low production rate of just 0.24 equal to 1 record low historical value in June (1971),” REN said in a statement.
In June, the wind regime was in line with the average, registering 0.99, while in the photovoltaic regime it stood at 106.
Last month, REN also points out, “renewable production supplied 38% of consumption [de eletricidade]value similar to that of non-renewable production, while the remaining 24% corresponded to imported energy”.
Considering the first half of the year as a whole, the hydroelectric producibility index was 0.34, wind was 0.95 and solar was 1.11. In the six months of the year as renewable 48% of gas consumption electricity from the first half of the year 31% (the highest value of initial gas for a first half) and always, of electricity 21% naturally (also a historic maximum for the first semester).
According to REN, electricity consumption in Portugal recorded, in June, a year-on-year growth of 3.6%, or 2.9% after correcting for temperature effects and the number of working days. In the first half of the year, consumption grew by 3%, compared to the same period of the previous year, 2.9%, or 3% with temperature correction and working days.
