Salzburg Open: Jurij Rodionov fails right at the start – sports mix

For Jurij Rodionov it’s the end of the first round of the Salzburg Open!
The 23-year-old from Lower Austria was defeated in three sets by the six-seeded Brazilian Thiago Monteiro in his opening game at the Challenger tournament in the city of Mozart, which is worth 134,920 euros.
After almost exactly two hours of play, Rodionov loses 6: 3, 3: 6 and 2: 6.
“It could have been easier from the paper form, but if I have my seven plums together and call up my potential, I definitely trust myself to take the hurdle,” said Rodionov before his first duel with the current number 89 in the world on his Facebook site. In the end, the hurdle was too high.
