Nordic Solar buys 220 MWp solar energy project in Sweden
July 4 (Renewables Now) – Denmark’s Nordic Solar A / S has agreed to acquire four solar energy projects with a total capacity of 220 MWp in southern Sweden in a deal that marks its entry into the neighboring country.
The projects are being sold by the Swedish solar park developer Helios Nordic Energy AB, the two companies said in separate statements on Monday without revealing financial details.
The four solar parks will be developed by Helios Nordic Energy and will generate green power corresponding to the consumption of 44,000 private households.
Helios will deliver the projects fully permitted and with network connections. It will also provide technical and commercial management services during the operation of the facilities.
The projects will be completed during the period between 2023 and 2025.
The buyers will be both private customers and companies.
“We are experiencing an enormous demand for green energy, and the accelerated transition from fossil fuels to green energy, not least in Scandinavia, has created a vacuum that requires significant and rapidly increasing production capacity,” says Nordic Solar’s CEO Nikolaj Holtet Hoff.
