Nathan Watson wins in Portugal’s EnduroGP repeats
With these results, Andrea Verona regains the championship lead
Nathan Watson (Honda) won the second day of the EnduroGP of Portugal held in Coimbra, fourth in the World Championship.
The Honda rider, who had already been the fastest on Saturday, ended Sunday’s race with a time of 57.27.68 minutes, leaving second second, Italian Andrea Verona (GasGas), at 20.72 seconds, with the Brit Steve Holcombe (Beta) in third at 25.87.
“It was a perfect weekend, with two wins in two days. Honestly, I didn’t expect it”, commented Watson, at the end.
However, with these results it is Andrea Verona who regains the championship lead.
“I really enjoyed the stages and I’m very satisfied with my result. It was a good weekend in terms of the championship”, said Verona.
In juniors, Frenchman Zachary Pichon (Sherco) was beaten for the first time this year. The author of the facade was the Finnish Roni Kytonen (Honda), leaving the Frenchman at 8.32 seconds.
In this category, the Portuguese Renato Silva (Beta) was 21st closed.
The British Harry Edmonson (Fantic) won the Youth category, in which the Portuguese Frederico Rocha (Fantic) withdrew.
Among the female competitors, the victory of the British Queen Janes (Yama) with the Portuguese Rita Vieira (Yama) finishing at the door of the podium, in fourth position, one above what she had the day before.
Gonçalo Reis (GasGas) repeated the victory among the drivers of the Open 4s class.
The next journey takes place in Slovakia from the 29th to the 31st of July.
