Mediterranean Games, first competitions for San Marino shooters
First day of competition for the white and blue shooters at the Mediterranean Games. At the shooting range in Oran, in a day characterized by intense pangs that forced a competition for two hours, the three qualifying series were staged, each 25 targets each
In the men’s trap Gian Marco Berti, with two series of 24 and one of 23, closes the day with 71/75, in full swing for entry into the final. In women’s trap Alessandra Perilli, after two 22s in the first two series, closed the day with a 23 and an overall 67/75, just one target from the final.
This morning the last 50 qualifying targets are scheduled, with the women’s final starting at 2 pm and the men’s final at 3.15 pm (one hour ahead in San Marino).
After the test of the day before yesterday in the 200 breaststroke that suggests good prospects, Giacomo Casadei is back in the pool for the 50 breaststroke setting the new San Marino record in the long course. The time, 29.49, improves by 10 cents the previous record, made in February at the same Casadei at the last Titano Meeting, and is valid for the qualification for the Italian Summer Championships.
This was followed by Loris Bianchi’s debut in the 1,500 freestyle heats. A test ended in 16.03.32, a time that places him in ninth position, first of the excluded from the final.
“Casadei confirmed the good solidity achieved and the condition of constant and continuous progression – comments the technical director Luca Corsetti -. Now he only needs the 100 breaststroke and then he will continue his preparation in view of the next appointments. Bianchi slow, finding the right sensations, the correct approach to training sessions and must continue on this path. Today the same freestyle is the 400 freestyle, a race in which he can certainly do better than what he swam at the World Championships “.
