Basketball in Naples under the eyes of Che: here is the new playground in San Giovanni a Teduccio
Here again “A basket for a friend”, The magnificent initiative of the Charlatans and president Giancarlo Garraffa, which led to the creation of playgrounds in various districts of the city with the aim of allowing free basketball practice. This time the virtuous operation concerned San Giovanni a Teduccio where the 23rd basket for a friend was inaugurated. In via Sacco e Vanzetti at the corner with via Parrocchia, right under the gigantic mural of Che Guevara painted by Jorit. The new beautiful basket was the result of a brisk team work that involved the Charlatans basket, the brothers of DareFuturo onlus and the Municipality of Naples. And 4 super teammates: Urban Jungle (who also signed the splendid Bagnoli field last year) the Ex Taverna Del Ferro wrestling committee, Paris San Gennar (also supporters of the 4people basketball course) and Bereshit (artists of the street art). The basket was named after the young sportsman Frediano Peraino prematurely disappeared.
Of the 23 baskets installed or recovered by the Charlatans in 6 years this is undoubtedly the most iconic of all, under the fantastic mural of Che painted by an artist like Jorit. Inauguration took place in an area thirsty for sports: 5 minutes after the installation it was full of kids playing. Present at the inauguration were the great ex of Neapolitan basketball Manfredo Fucile, Massimo Sbaragli, Giovanni Dalla Libera, the play Roberto Maggio who was the protagonist of the promotion to A del Cuore Napoli and the Neapolitan Serie A player Sara Bocchetti who acted as testimonial. Among the politicians Enza Amato, president of the City Council and the city planning councilor Lieto. For three years, authorization has been awaited for the installation of the playground in Piazza Cavour, blocked for bureaucratic reasons which it is now hoped to be able to overcome thanks to the interest of President Amato.
