ANDORRA LA VELLA (ANDORRA), 1 Jul. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Andorran Ministry of Culture and Sports announced this Friday the publication of the rules and the opening of the term to apply for the 2022 Ramon Llull Awards, which this year includes a new translation modality.
Thus, the bases for the XXXI International Award for Catalanistic and Linguistic Diversity, convened together with the Fundació Congrés de Cultura Catalana, and the X Ramon Llull Awards for the International Promotion of Catalan Creation and Literary Translation, have been published, the Government has informed of Andorra in a statement.
In this latest award, as held at the last meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Ramon Llull, the rules for this edition include two categories: the Award for the best Translation of Catalan literature, which seeks to stimulate new translations, and the Award for the Career of a Translator of Catalan Literature, which recognizes the work of consolidated professionals.
The first has an endowment of 4,000 euros and can be chosen by translators who have not published more than five translations of Catalan literature; to the second, with an endowment of 6,000 euros, those who have published more than five may opt.
The awards are presented annually in Andorra with the aim of recognizing people and institutions “from outside the linguistic domain that have worked for the international promotion of the Catalan language and culture”.
