No national status for Luis Ludin! – Hockey-News.info
The most recent decision by the “win2day ICE Hockey League” and the Austrian Ice Hockey Association does not rate Haie youngster Luis Ludin as a “national player”. As of today, June 30, 2022, HC TIWAG Innsbruck’s application for an exception was not approved.
Haie chairman Günther Hanschitz is bitterly disappointed in a first statement, especially since Ludin is designated as the “national player” in the Alps Hockey League (second ice hockey league).
“I have to be honest, I don’t get it. There seems to be a double standard here, unfortunately at the expense of a talented player’s future. The Austrian Ice Hockey Association is involved in both leagues, if I understand the motives even less. Where’s the difference? I’m terribly sorry about Luis, because that means he’s an “excess” import player in our squad and we can’t field him. After all, our squad planning was completed some time ago, we have valid contracts. But it goes without saying for me that we will pull out all the stops to find a good team for Luis where he can develop properly.”
