Due to rising energy prices, more than 100 applications for funding for photovoltaic systems are received by the state of Salzburg every week – up to five times as many as a year ago. The state is therefore increasing the funding and is releasing around six million euros.
From the summer, the state of Salzburg will be offering more subsidies to create additional incentives for sustainable energy production. Because by 2030, all of the electricity in Salzburg should come from renewable energy sources.
Goal: 500 gigawatt hours more from solar power by 2030
There is more money for larger photovoltaic systems on already sealed surfaces in residential buildings or companies. Funding is available for areas from 500 to 600 square meters, and the funding will be advertised from July 15th. There is also more funding for private individuals and farmers who operate photovoltaic systems, says state energy officer Heinrich Schellhorn (Greens): “We want to expand photovoltaics by 500 gigawatt hours by 2030. That’s about six times what we produced in 2020. This goal is achievable if we continue the pace that has been implemented over the past two years.”
Those who exchange their gas boiler for local or district heating receive 2,000 euros in addition to the existing subsidies. There is also a subsidy of EUR 300 for the purchase of a cargo bike and EUR 600 for electric cargo bikes. Invoices will be accepted from July 15th.
