Dramatic afternoon on the Ponente beach: the victim is an Austrian tourist, the woman rescued by German lifeguards is an 83-year-old

CAORLE. A deceased 70-year-old Austrian tourist, an 83-year-old German seriously in hospital. It was a dramatic afternoon on Wednesday, the Ponente beach in Caorle. The two episodes happened a few years away from each other. In both cases, help was called for drowning syndrome. The first emergency was triggered shortly after 15.30, at the height of tower 36. According to the first information gathered, an Austrian tourist, in his seventies, lost his life near the shoreline, after being struck by an illness. It is unclear whether the man went swimming and fell ill while he was bathing. Or if he were by the sea. The intervention of the rescue personnel present on the beach was immediate.

In the meantime, 118 was alerted and, from the Treviso hospital, the rescue helicopter also took off and landed shortly after on the Ponente beach. Unfortunately, however, despite all the desperate attempts of the rescuers, there was nothing for the Austrian tourist to do. The doctors had to note the death of the man.

This time, an 83-year-old tourist of German nationality was accused of drowning. The woman was also rescued by lifeguards and then by medical personnel.
