A solution is being developed here that will provide a strong upscaling of kelp production in Norway
Tysnesøy: Production manager Sunniva Tangen Haldorsen and kelp grower Ole Christian Kjerrgård open the door to the holiest at the kelp growing facility in Lerøy on Tysnesøy south of Bergen. On shelves along the wall in the cold room are about twenty water decanters with a bubbling brown liquid. By next spring, this kelp will be grown, and the mass is enough to produce more than twice as much as all of Norway’s production last year.
