Captains Regent San Marino an opening ceremony for the Mediterranean Games – Padovanews
ORANO (ALGERIA) (ITALPRESS) – The curtain has risen on Oran 2022. The opening ceremony staged at the Olympic Stadium in Oran inaugurated the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games which will be hosted by Algeria until 6 July . The parade of athletes from the 26 participating nations was governed by Greece, with Algeria the last to make its entrance into the stadium as per tradition linked to the host country. During the ceremony also the San Marino Team parade, with Alessandra Perilli and Enrico Dall’Olmo to govern the delegation with the honors of flag bearer. In the Tribune, for the Republic of San Marino, also the Captains Regent Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli and the Secretary of State with responsibility for Sport, Teodoro Lonfernini. They had arrived in Oran a few hours earlier, Ramtane Lamamra. Numerous political authorities were present and invited by the Algerian presidency to celebrate the return of a competition that had been missing in the territory since Algiers 1975. The ceremony celebrated precisely this aspect, thanks to the participation of the national symphony orchestra, 200 choristers and over 300 dancers. The Heads of State and the Secretary Lonfernini, who will remain in Oran until Tuesday, continued their institutional journey following the first competitions of the San Marino athletes. To break the ice was the individual and pairs of bowls competition, where the Republic of San Marino fielded the athletes Enrico Dall’Olmo and Jacopo Frisoni. The same have reported two encouraging victories with France and Italy.
