Portugal through to the Nations Cup final in Warsaw
The Nations Cup held this Friday, June 24, at the Pôle International du Cheval Longines-Deauville, in Normandy, was exciting until the last jump.
The Portuguese team by, Duarte Seabra (Dourados), Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (Imposant van), Mário Prieto (Othello Z) and António Matos Almeida (Calypso de Kamelia of Portugal), placed in the EEF Nations Cup Final, after the 5th place (9 points) in the Deauville CSIO3*.
This competition, the first semi-finals of the EEF series, five sets from the first two for the final of the Longines EEF Series 2022 in Warsaw (Poland). As five outfits that qualify in rank order by Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Sweden and Portugal.
There were ten, like two teams, rounds of the Cup of Nations, in a course designed by French track manager Yan Royant, consisting of 12 team jumps (1.50m).
The two rounds end with Ireland, Belgium and Spain through to a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker it was Wilm Vermeir with Joyride S that gave the victory to the Belgian team by crossing the finish line with zero points in 41.65 seconds, beating the Spaniard Eduardo Alvarez Aznar with Full Option van’t Zand, also without faults but in 42 .62 seconds. Ireland finished third with 4 fouls.
