Radical solution to a problem taken from head: an anti-lice treatment center is installed behind the Quai de la Bourse. Guaranteed effectiveness, with zero chemicals. Space equipped soothing for the best welcome, the Kidipoux Institute takes care of everything.
Lice ruin life. The Rouen entrepreneur Scheherazade Akaba tackles the issue head-on and resolves it by getting to the root of the problem. On May 18, she opened the Kidipoux Institute instead of the Un Instant pour moi hair salon, at the corner of rue de la Champmeslé and rue Saint-Etienne-des-Tonneliers.
The Kidipoux Institute is an anti-lice treatment center as there are in the largest cities of France. “Marseille, Lille and Paris have this type of structure, indicates Schéhérazade Akaba. I am convinced that this activity has its place in Rouen.”
And the manager explains: “We use zero chemicals. The mechanical treatment is 100% effective in eliminating lice and nits; the method is infallible, scientifically tested and validated; we guarantee the result. Our secret lies in our patented machines, made in the USA, specially designed to overcome these parasites by dehydration and aspiration.”
The device presents itself as a large vacuum cleaner with two buses. After its action comes the verification with a magnifying glass lamp for a finishing work wick by wick. The intervention lasts on average two hours, against four hours for long, thick and very infested hair. A price idea? 40€ (baby), 50€ (short hair), 80€ (long).
Schéhérazade Akaba attributed the competence to two qualified technicians, full-time employees. She, for her part, devotes herself to the management of her establishments. At 32, she is at the head of three other businesses, in the catering sector, near Le Havre and Elbeuf. A born entrepreneur, pure self-taught, guided by her intuition.
Don’t be intimidated by the term “treatment center”. The place, where discretion is ensured by opacified windows, with the cleanliness of a medicalized universe but not the coldness of a hospital.
The boss succeeded in the challenge of producing a feeling of comfort despite the obligation to generalize smooth surfaces. No cushions here, but a space layout that reassures. A sober and soothing environment, for the well-being of children (touch tablets and educational games available) and parents (coffee, tea, biscuits, magazines).
“Lice, I put them on the same level as a cold or the flu: you’re sick, it’s contagious, you just have to treat yourself. I want to help people to play down the drama, not to complex too much, to feel guilty, too.”
The subject of lice remains more or less taboo, in fact, and the Kidipoux project can remove a thorn from the side of the families concerned. “When the lice keep coming back, mums think they’re not up to it. It brings back the image of the bad mother, it’s terrible for them.”
