HSV Red Bull Salzburg athletes on course for a medal at the Military World Championships in Güssing

After the very successful state championship in parachute target jumping, it applies to eight athletes from HSV Red Bull Salzburg to jump for the most coveted title of the year at the current Military World Championships in Güssing.
After only three days, the Salzburg parachutists can already claim a bronze medal and are on course for medals in some disciplines. The exciting decisions about the world championship title will be made in the next few days.
At the start of the summer season for parachutists, there is a big season highlight for some of the HSV Red Bull Salzburg athletes with the Military World Championships, which will be organized by the Austrian Armed Forces in Güssing in Burgenland from June 20th to 28th. This year, 335 competitors and referees from 35 nations are taking part in this military world championship, which is held every 10 years in Austria. They are competing for the title “Military World Champion” in the disciplines (target jumping, formation and style).
With Sebastian Graser, Julia Schosser, Sophie Grill, Manuel Sulzbacher, Kevin Wagner, Joachim Knauß, Michael Urban and Michael Hribernik, all soldiers of the Austrian Armed Forces, the Salzburg Parachute Club is well represented at the home World Cup and represents the entire Austrian team.
Right from the start, the Salzburg parachute jumper was able to keep up well with the extremely strong international competition. The entire team around trainer Alexander Janko feels extremely comfortable in the airspace of Burgenland and can rightly hope for a few medals.
After three completed rounds of the women and men in the skydiving, in which 25 men’s and six women’s teams are at the start. In their parade discipline, the Salzburgers are in the top places and are fighting for the individual titles. In the team classification, too, the HSV Red Bull Salzburg team is still within reach of the podium with seventh place.
First bronze medal for HSV Red Bull Salzburg
In the figure jumping of the men’s juniors, Michael Urban showed a top performance and can look forward to bronze here. “I’m overjoyed because I didn’t expect it, but in the end everything worked out perfectly,” said the Tyrolean, who is jumping for HSV Red Bull Salzburg, happily about his deserved medal.
The young, exceptionally talented Salzburger Sophie Grill is currently fighting for gold in the style rankings, as well as the target jumping of the juniors, where she also leads the field. Her team colleague Julia Schosser is also in fourth place in the target jumping in the top field after round three and is also jumping for the world championship title.
The style discipline is the first to be completed, after which the competitions in formation jumping are started and the target competitions are continued.
The perfect organization by the Austrian Armed Forces and the optimal weather conditions give hope for more action-packed days of competition, in which the people of Salzburg will once again give their all.
