EXHIBITIONS
FORMER DISTRICTthe cycle of temporary exhibitions in the Municipal Centers of the neighborhoods arrives with a new edition. Until June 30th.
- Castaños Municipal Center – Ángel Sánchez – Babel – Photography. Babel is much more than empty, cold buildings. It is the empire of solitary confinement. The x-ray of a society devoid of humanity. Babel speaks of the confusion of the current individual, of our disorientation and defenselessness before ourselves, because there is no greater loneliness than missing oneself.
- Municipal Center of Begoña – We left Reinforced or Re-forced- Photography. The purpose of this exhibition is to reflect and give continuity to Human Rights Day, which despite the time that has elapsed since its promulgation, its content remains unfulfilled, when it is not seriously violated. The pandemic crisis has highlighted the need to have a strong commitment to caring for people, which requires social responsibility for compliance.
- San Francisco Municipal Center – PHOTOBAT – Photography. Photobat, Bilboko Argazki Elkartea is a photographic association located in Bilbao. It was founded in 2015 and, since then, it has been adding partners with a common passion, photography. In addition to contests, courses and photographic outings, they also organize exhibitions and from there comes this collective exhibition of 32 images, in which the different themes, techniques, styles and ways of understanding photography can be appreciated.
- Errrekalde Municipal Center – María Rosario Uriarte. Color In Nature – Painting. That great work of art that is naked and wild Nature, with its landscapes, its lights and always different moments, invites and inspires numerous artists to create works that arouse emotions.
- Municipal Center of San Inazio – Ibarrekolanda – Blanca Calderón – Painting. The artist is interested in the female figure that transcends the concept of gender. The delicacy, the gesture, the corporeality, the tenderness and the intimacy are essential in the pictorial story of the woman that I propose. Nothing like the pastel technique, very delicate and difficult to treat, with clean, fresh, authentic and first-intention strokes, to express what for her is the charm of the feminine.
- Abando Municipal Center – Basque Association of Watercolourists – Painting. The works presented in this collective exhibition have been made in the 2021/2022 academic year in the watercolor workshops that the Association carries out in its premises, thus fulfilling one of its main objectives, which is to bring this technique closer to society.
