Children in difficulty cared for in Monaco for 10 years
On Tuesday June 14, the Princess Charlene Children’s Home celebrated its 10th anniversary, in the presence of Prince Albert II.
When it was inaugurated in 2012, it was the first time that a structure – in the Principality – bore the name of Princess Charlene. Open 365 days a year, the establishment focused on helping children, which did not exist in the old Sainte-Dévote home. 10 years later, the home continues its mission. Children can join it from birth until they are 25 years old.
” The supervision is 40 staff, with specialized educators but also all the daily professions “, explains Marie Thouvenin-Rapaire, director of the establishment, on Monaco Info. ” Everyone manages to offer, at their level, activities for children, special relational care for each child “, she adds.

To celebrate these 10 years of existence, a workshop was organized within the establishment. The staff gathered around the Monegasque artist Mr One Teas to create a collective work. It will be exhibited in the recreation room of the foyer and the supervisors could, in turn, introduce the children to art. In September, they are the ones who will decorate the skylight in the foyer.
About fifteen children are currently staying at the Princess Charlene Children’s Home. Some are there for a few months and others for several years.
