Brussels starts development of LionCity
Two years ago, citydev.brussels bought the Delhaize site in the Ossegem district in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and renamed it LionCity. In August, the promotion order for works will be issued for the development of the first part: LionCity I, good for 52,000 m². This is done together with the Brussels Regional Housing Company (BGHM) and Ahold Delhaize.
For this project, citydev.brussels is looking for a multidisciplinary design team. A start can be made with the composition of the candidate team to register for the assignment.
It includes owner-occupied homes, workshops, social housing, a supermarket, shops and restaurants. At least 35% of the plot is intended for green space and 30% of the homes must be energy neutral. There will also be a district heating network. The parking building will be reused, preferably a mobility hub. Space is also earmarked for landscape, urban and recreational agriculture.
