Legislative 2022. All the results of the second round in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne
First constituency
No miracle for Pierre Baudis, candidate for the presidential majority, who failed in the first constituency (a good part of Toulouse and Blagnac) with 45.78% of the vote. Hadrian Clouetof the Nupes, 54.22% of the votes.
On the evening of his defeat, Pierre Baudis underlined the “fourth defeat of Jean-Luc Mélenchon who will not be Prime Minister of France”. “He will remain a simple leader – without a mandate – of a coalition which will not resist for very long in its unity”, predicted the candidate Ensemble, for whom “Emmanuel Macron is able to rely on a constructive majority to govern the pay”. Pierre Baudis was nevertheless part of his “greatest concern about the conditions in which the parliamentary debate will take place in the National Assembly” and “of the permanent agitation” that he could reign there.
Second constituency
The party of the presidential majority also loses the second constituency, which goes from Toulouse to Montastruc-la-Conseillère via L’Union and Saint-Jean. The outgoing Modem MP, Jean-Luc Lagleize, who won in 2017 against Anne Stambach-Terrenoir, is this time defeated. He only totaled 47.10% of the vote against 52.90% for the candidate Nupes-LFI, parliamentary attaché of the Euro-deputy Manuel Bompart since 2019.
Third constituency
The match seemed tense but Corinne Vignon wins this constituency, mainly Toulouse (with Verfeil in addition), with 55.71% of the vote. The representative of Nupes, Agathe Roby, will not have succeeded in winning this territory traditionally rather on the right, gathering only 44.29% of the votes.
Fourth constituency
In the fourth constituency, entirely Toulouse, the candidate Nupes Francois Piquemal transforms the test with a score without appeal and without surprise in view of his lead in the first round. The opposition municipal councilor in Toulouse, local figure of the Right to Housing association, totaled 59.26% of the votes against the presidential majority candidate Marie-Claire Constans. The deputy of the outgoing LREM deputy, Mickaël Nogal, who does not reveal himself, was beaten by more than 6,000 votes and obtained 40.74% of the vote. Sunday evening, François Piquemal solved “a collective victory of all the militants”. “We come to bring the cup home,” he said of this traditionally left-wing constituency that passed “macronist” in the last elections, an “anomaly” according to him.
Fifth constituency
New good evening for the outgoing MP Jean-Francois Portarrieuwho won the fifth constituency (part of Toulouse, Fronton, Grenade, Villemur-sur-Tarn) with 51.89% of the vote, against 48.11% for her opponent from Nupes, Sylvie Espagnolle,
Sixth circumspection
In this constituency, which covers the west of Toulouse, from Cazères to Plaisance-du-Touch and Léguevin, the battle was very tight, since it was decided with only three votes in favor of Monique Iborra. The outgoing MP, who has held this seat for fifteen years, under the socialist banner and then under that of LREM since 2017, is leaving for a fourth term. She
Seventh constituency
The rebellious Christophe Bex wins the seventh constituency, which goes from Muretain to Volvestre, with 51.17% of the vote. Elisabeth Toutut-Picard, who had almost been overtaken by the RN in the first round, therefore lost in the second with 48.83%.
Eighth constituency
The only outgoing socialist deputy from Haute-Garonne, Joel Arivagnet, supported by Carole Delga (and originally by Nupes), won the constituency of Comminges with the good score of 60.39%. The RN will therefore not win a constituency in Haute-Garonne, since Loïc Delchard is beaten with 39.61% of the vote.
Ninth District
Success also of the union of the left in the ninth district, whose perimeter covers the southern districts of Toulouse, Portet-sur-Garonne and Labarthe-sur-Lèze. Christine Arrighi de la Nupes-EELV, who came by far in the lead in the first round with more than 5,900 votes in advance, won as easily this Sunday with 58.55% of the votes against outgoing MP Sandrine Mörch, candidate for Together ( 41.45%). During the interval between the two rounds, the former assistant to PS mayor Pierre Cohen in Ramonville received two strong supporters, that of the DVD Paul Rümler, who came fourth in the first round with 4.91% and the ecologist Robert Baud ( 3.26%). Referring to her defeat, Sandrine Mörch, a journalist by training, said she was “sad about the abandoned battles but very happy not to be in the soup that awaits the candidates tomorrow” when speaking of the future National Assembly.
Tenth constituency
The presidential majority saves a third seat in the tenth constituency. In this territory of Lauragais, which goes from Castanet-Tolosan to Revel, Dominique Faure succeeds LREM deputy Sébastien Nadot, who is not being created. For her third candidacy, the mayor of Saint-Orens, invested by Ensemble, finally won with 50.20% of the vote against Alice Assier, 25, member of Génération.s, who arrived with 49.80%.
Nupes and RN, groups that will count
With more than 140 seats, it is not the Grand Soir but a comeback for the left at the Palais Bourbon. Around 8:30 p.m., many of them gathered at the Winger bar, on the Matabiau side, in the Toulouse headquarters of Nupes. But the atmosphere is rather wise in the small crowd where the faces are often young. At the drink of beers, on exchange in front of the television screen which broadcasts the evening of France 3 Occitanie. People come alive to applaud the first favorable results of the New People’s Ecological and Social Alliance. The Haut-Garonne candidates have not yet arrived while it is still too early to have the results from the Pink City.
A known face, that of Antoine Maurice, municipal councilor and metropolitan opposition in Toulouse, former head of the environmental list in the regional elections. The man, who had supported the Nupes, is rather smiling. “Emmanuel Macron does not have a majority. It is clearly a slap in the face for the President of the Republic, who wanted to step over this election. The results of the National Rally are enormous, it is very worrying. The way of doing politics at LREM has therefore been a stepping stone for the far right”, analyzes the elected EELV, who recognized a “little disappointment” with the results of Nupes. But the ecologist prefers to see the glass half full: “It’s a completely honorable result. We are the second political force in the country. I hope that we will continue this gathering. We must maintain this collective despite the debates that will take place between us. We must maintain this hope to be in the majority tomorrow. »
89 deputies, a very important and historic score for the National Rally in the National Assembly. Regional councilor RN Julien Leonardelli has a cheerful voice on the phone: “They wanted to bury us a little too soon. We will be a strong and powerful group around Marine Le Pen for this legislature. We will be an opposition force on all subjects, starting with purchasing power, ”said the departmental delegate of the RN in Haute-Garonne. In the absence of elected officials in his department, he points to successes on a regional scale: “In Occitania, we are going out with three deputies and we will reach twenty, including two in the former Midi-Pyrenees region. “The far-right executive prophesies: “Macron will have to deal with other forces, in particular LR. But I think that this new assembly will not last five years. There will be dissolution. »
