A new weekend in June is finally upon us. The Capital welcomes new summer events, music is a great protagonist and there is no shortage of appointments dedicated to taste in the city and its surroundings.
What to do on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June in Rome
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June will be a very lively weekend for everyone. It’s the weekend of great returns, with “Lungo il Tevere … Roma” and “L’Isola del Cinema” on the Tiber Island. Great music fills the most important spaces of the capital, from the Olympic Stadium which will feature the Venditti-De Gregori duo, to the Auditorium Parco della Musica where, for the Rome Summer Fest 2022, there will be Rocco Hunt. The Rock in Rome program also continues with Gemitaiz at the Capannelle Hippodrome and more music at the Casa del Jazz with Giovanni Guidi and Furio Di Castri.
Good music yes, but also good food with many food and wine events around the city: from Rome Hortus Vini to the Botanical Garden, to Anzio Street Food for those who want to head towards the sea. There is no shortage of cultural events and those dedicated to cinema.

Venditti and De Gregori at the Olympic Stadium
The long-awaited event has finally arrived. Antonello Venditti and Francesco De Gregori will be together, at the Olympic Stadium, in a concert-event scheduled for Saturday 18 June. The two songwriters will excite the audience with an unrepeatable show, giving a new look to their greatest hits, songs that have entered people’s hearts, in people’s stories, which are the soundtrack of entire generations. Along the Tiber … Rome
The one coming up will be the first weekend of one of the events of the Roman summers: Along the Tiber … Rome. The festival, which turns 18 this year, will bring 80 evenings of entertainment and an international gastronomic offer to the banks of the Tiber from mid-June to the end of August. The Island of Cinema
Weekend of great returns, because the lights are also turned on on the Tiber Island for a new edition – the 28esuna – of L’Isola del Cinema. On the banks of the Tiber, the event, totally renewed in its graphics and content, is ready to offer a rich cultural calendar with screenings, exhibitions, special events, master classes and meetings with Italian and international guests. Gemitaiz a rock in Rome
Gemitaiz, born in Rome in 1988, arrives at the Capannelle Hippodrome on June 18, in the context of Rock in Roma 2022. He is one of the most followed and respected rappers on the Italian hip hop scene. Known for being an extremely prolific artist, Gemitaiz now has three studio albums and several mixtapes to his credit. Rocco Hunt at the Rome Summer Fest
Two years after the last album Rocco Hunt returns with his “Revolution” the fifth studio album of the rapper who in less than 10 years of career has exceeded 1.9 billion total streams and won the title of author of the biggest summer hits of recent years in Italy. Travels in Ancient Rome, multimedia show
From 10 June the Travels in Ancient Rome project returns which, through two passionate multimedia shows, tells and revives the history of the Forum of Augustus and the Forum of Caesar. Spectators will be able to return to enjoy an exciting representation and at the same time information with great historical and scientific rigor, accompanied by the voice of Piero Angela and a vision full of magnificent films and reconstructions that depict the two places as they were in ancient Rome. Cinema in the square
Many appointments with the Cinema in the square that also opens the arena of Monte Ciocci. In Trastevere on Saturday 18 June “Gremlins” by Joe Dante will be screened, while on Sunday Francesca Archibugi will be the protagonist with “Il grande cocomero”. At the Parco della Cervelletta, the film “Dear Wendy” by Thomas Vinterberg will be screened on Saturday, while the appointment on Sunday with “Il Signore degli: Le due torri”. In Monte Ciocci it is Wolfgang Becker’s “Addio, Lenin!” To inaugurate the arena on Saturday evening. The screening of Salvatore Giuliano, a film by Francesco Rosi, will follow on Sunday 19. Giovanni Guidi and Furio Di Castri at the Casa del Jazz
On Saturday 18 June, Giovanni Guidi presents “One Hundred Comizi d’amore”, the piano-only show, at the Casa del Jazz. Free fish tastings at the Circus Maximus
Fish will be the protagonist at the Campagna Amica market of the Circus Maximus in via di San Teodoro 74. A journey through the treasures of our maricas will land in Rome on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June. For the third year, the doors of the Rome Botanical Garden Museum reopen exceptionally in the evening to give life to Rome Hortus Vini, the festival of native vines. Festival of Arrosticini
The Arrosticini Festival arrives in Castelnuovo di Porto on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June. Food stands open for dinner only, starting at 7pm. The menu includes kebabs, french fries, mixed fried foods, wraps with Nutella (by Piadinery di Capena), beer, wine and water. The evenings will be allied with the music of “Mattia Music Band”. Street food of Anzio
From 16 to 19 June Anzio is once again the capital of street food. The street food path will be divided into two squares: Piazza Pia will host 15 street chefs aboard ApeCar and Food Truck, while in Piazza Garibaldi, 12 kitchen stands will be staged.
