Krisztina Egerszegi Ambassador of the World Cup, one of the faces of the FINA World Cup poster campaign in Budapest starting on June 18.
“I’m on the billboard with myself. Tamás Darnyi also undertook the decision based on this, as I was my role model. Now so, this year will be a great world event. I don’t like to anticipate any expectations, because I remember how much I hated it when they came with them, so I wish the Hungarian competitors to get the best out of them ”- The former world-class backstroke (who won the Olympics four times and once in the backstroke) said that Hungary could be a good host for an Olympics.
“Budapest, or rather Hungary, has proven in recent years to have great competition skills. Of course, anyone who doesn’t like sports will obviously say why and only notice the problems. The country will be more than just any sport, art, culture event we organize. World-class facilities have been built, we are excellent at hosting huge-scale sporting events such as the FINA World Championships, most of which can be started for the second time. So that’s it, all we have to do is finally believe that Hungary is capable of knowing a summer Olympics. ”
He also spoke about current issues in Egerszeg, such as the transgender phenomena or the war in Ukraine.
“Men’s sports are men’s sports and women’s sports are women’s. I think the competition could remain fair if there was a separate category for transgender athletes, I would see this as the best solution, no one would be violated their right to compete. I don’t feel like the world is going in the best direction. The conflict in our neighborhood may also end as soon as possible, but of course I also see that there are plenty of false things in the media about this war to be condemned as well. I also have no good feelings about the continuous supply of weapons to the war zone, and I think there is a chance to end a war if no one is transporting a weapon there anymore. There are things that are not cheered up, such as digitization, which presents the world as an incredible achievement. I accept that it has huge potential, but it also holds many dangers, such as taking a lot of personal communication between people. Unfortunately, young people can be at risk of a false, “masked” world appearing on social media because they lose the essence: recognizing their own values. ”
