Toulouse: Purpan emergencies reopen to the public
In Toulouse, after another day of strike, Monday June 13, the emergencies of Purpan (CHU of Toulouse) reopened completely as of this Tuesday morning, June 14. Despite the resumption of activity, the dialogue is still complicated between management and staff. A new day of strike was voted unanimously for the next few days.
In Toulouse, the Purpan emergencies are resuming their activities. After a day of strike, Monday June 13, the carers are back in their service since Tuesday June 14, in the morning. However, the unions and management have still not found an agreement. “On a vote, unanimously, a new day of strike. Purpan is in crisis and the management is the main responsible for it, ”says Pauline Salingue, CGT union official at the Toulouse University Hospital.
After a first mobilization last week, the strikers want to harden the movement. “Waiting times are getting longer and longer, the number of patients cared for by a carer can reach 25, beds in the corridors are commonplace”, warns the CGT of the Toulouse University Hospital in a press release.
A still difficult dialogue
Contacted on Monday June 13, the director of human resources at the Toulouse University Hospital announced “a social dialogue” between the strikers and management. “Ahead of each strike, we meet the organizers. We are starting a new round of negotiations this week. Management did not reject all requests. We support dialogue, ”says Edouard Douheret, HRD at Toulouse University Hospital.
The unions are not of the same opinion: “Contrary to what the HRD declares in the press, the negotiations with the somatic emergencies are not in progress: a meeting took place on Thursday June 9 at which an end of inadmissibility has been given”, criticizes the CGT of the CHU of Toulouse. Another meeting is scheduled between the various players on Tuesday, June 21.
