You see it well! This is not America, this is Hungary, and you have to paddle here
The Bömbika lookout tower on Lake Tisza is unique in the country, not in vain did it receive the Lookout of the Year award in 2021. Interestingly, it is named after the blackbirds nesting nearby and can only be approached by a single waterway.
Its maintenance is undertaken by local contractors.
If this water lookout alone and because of its uniqueness has not yet enchanted you, the surrounding wildly romantic landscape will do.
Take a trip and hiking is also a huge experience in this countryside. Next to the reeds between Sarud and Poroszló, there is a lookout tower in the water, which was built a year ago and was built by the Frogs’ Association on the site of a bird-watching tower.
This location is one of the resting places of water tour routes, so it is a destination rich in terms of program. The tower is four-story and, despite standing in water, is built of wood.
It is recommended to approach it by canoe, but the more experienced ones can explore this unusual building either by kayak or SUP.
From the top of the lookout there is a beautiful panorama, you can see the mosaic-like lake, but you can also see the water reflection of the Poroszló and Sarudi basins.
If we look for the naming bulls, we are not looking for a four-legged giant, but a larger but wading bird that can be seen on Lake Tisza from early March to mid-October.

It is a solitary bird, rarely revealing itself from the reeds. The large bird is named after its characteristic voice, most reminiscent of a nebula.
The lookout can be visited free of charge, you only have to pay for the water equipment, which we can rent in Poroszló. If you want to go hiking or hiking after the water program, more than a kilometer of forest in Szelcepuszta is a real experience.
The tour follows the route of the blue tour.
