with ‘Desko’ smart working becomes green and furnishes the city –
Environment, technology, smart working, health: these are the constitutive elements of Desko, an innovative urban furniture element made of recycled plastic during the Firenze Rocks concerts with seat, support surface and photovoltaic roof panel that allows the devices to be recharged. electronic.
The plastic collected by Rev it is selected and prepared in the form of granules for the subsequent 3D printing performed by R3direct, to which the plant engineering component followed by Enecom is added. The established entrepreneurial network is able, on a regional scale, to cover the entire process that goes from the collection of waste to its recycling and transformation into new products, generating a short, circular and sustainable Tuscan supply chain.
The project was born from the collaboration between the four architects who graduated from the School of Architecture of the University of Florence in 2018 and a network of Tuscan companies formed by Revet, R3direct and Enecom. Part of the plastic consumed during the Firenze Rocks concerts will be used to create the first two Desko stations. The stations will be placed on an experimental basis in the Horticultural Garden.
“A concrete example of environmental sustainability, circular economy, creative design and technological innovation – said the commissioner Del Re -. But above all a way to rethink how to experience urban parks and gardens: no longer just as places for free time or to play sports, but also as environments to live for work and education, combining the benefits of living in the air. opened with the enhancement of urban green spaces. The first two Deskos will arrive in the autumn at the Horticulture garden in front of the Municipal Library. I thank Revet, Firenze Rocks and the professionals of Desko, whom I met during the pandemic: their proposal exactly meets the will of the councilorship to open to all green spaces organizational models of work and remote study that have exploded in the pandemic. With Desko we can do this through the use of recycled materials, clean energy and free Wi-Fi accessible to everyone in the city. A message, that of the recycling of plastic material correctly conferred, which will also infect the people of Firenze Rocks, who will thus contribute to creating these innovative furnishings “.
“The project represents a spontaneous creative response to the spring 2020 lockdown due to the Covid pandemic – explained the creators of the Desko smart seat Group -. The input derives from an emergency condition but we believe that Desko can be grafted onto multiple trends, which in some cases have been accelerated by the pandemic, such as remote work, outdoor teaching and, in relation to urban green spaces. , a radical rethinking of them as natural infrastructures at the service of the community, ‘habitable’ according to innovative imaginaries in line on the one hand with digitization and on the other with a renewed vision of nature in anthropogenic environments. An example of that virtuous circuit that from the beginning of this adventure we hoped to trigger and that we now see progressively materialize thanks to partners of enormous level “.
