La Nupes makes the pass of ten and threatens Macronie
In 2017, the presidential majority had won nine of the ten constituencies of Haute-Garonne in the legislative elections. Five years later, she finds herself very heckled by the Nupes candidates.
The won bet of the Nupes
La Nupes had displayed from the start of the campaign its ambition to have candidates everywhere in the second round in Haute-Garonne. She won her bet by qualifying them all. At the departmental level, it even comes first with more than 30% of the votes cast, ahead of Together! (27%) and the National Rally (16.17%).
In eight constituencies, it even turns in the lead. In these duels, it is sometimes well ahead of the candidates of the presidential majority. This is the case in the 1ʳᵉ where Hadrien Clouet (39.79%) Modem at 26.81%), Christine Arrighi (39.77%) in the 9th ahead of the outgoing Sandrine Mörch (25.25%). In the 4th, François Piquemal more than 46% of the votes, twice Marie-Claire Constans (Ensemble). In the 7th constituency, the Nupes Christophe Bex (30.68%) is 4 points ahead of the outgoing Elisabeth Toutut-Picard. Only the deputies of the presidential majority, Monique Iborra (30.27%) in the 6th, and Jean-François Portarrieu (28.91%) in the 5th come first in their constituencies.
Participation on the rise in Toulouse
In Toulouse, participation in all 265 polling stations is 52.7% for this first round of legislative elections, with 138,152 voters. It is up compared to 2017 when 48.39% of registered voters went to the polls.
Two big losers
Two departmental party leaders were defeated. Laurence Arribagé, the boss of the Republicans, failed to climb to the second round in the 3rd constituency to take her revenge on the outgoing MP Corinne Vignon (Together!). She finished third with 16.10% of the vote. Same ranking in the 5th district for Julien Léonardelli, the leader of the RN, eliminated despite an honorable score of 24.64%.
The PS wins the primary on the left of Comminges
In the Comminges, the only outgoing socialist deputy, Joël Aviragnet takes the lead with 28.67%. In this 8th constituency, the one whose campaign manager is none other than Carole Delga, therefore won her primary on the left against the ecologist Annabelle Fauvernier (17.53%), supported by all the other parties of Nupes. The outgoing will face the RN candidate Loïc Delchard who won 21.84% of the vote.

Elsewhere, in the former Midi-Pyrénées
In the Lot, Aurélien Pradié, the n°3 of the LRs, comes out well ahead with 45.46% and will face Elsa Bougeard, a Nupes candidate in the second round. In the 3rd district of Tarn, the leader of the Young Republicans, Guilhem Carayon, is eliminated, as is the outgoing deputy Together Muriel Roques-Etienne. Socialist Valérie Rabault is in favor of an RN candidate in the 1st constituency of Tarn-et-Garonne. In Ariège, the two outgoing LFI deputies are also in a favorable ballot.
