A young man injured in the thigh
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Posted at Place Saint-Pierre, the municipal police were approached by an injured young man. “He was 22 years old and it was a bleeding thigh wound”, testifies a police source to The Independent Opinion. The young man explains to the police that an individual met at the quays of the sea bream struck him in the leg with a broken bottle for no apparent reason. “He added that the man in question had followed him and would be there any moment,” police said.
Indeed, a few minutes later, a second man appears in front of them. “He had a broken bottle in each hand, blood on his pants and showed all the characteristics of drunkenness”, the police. This scene leaves little room for doubt as to the veracity of the victim’s statements. The police therefore proceed to the arrest of the assailant, “a young man of 17 years”, they specify.
Two other victims
A few minutes later, the police receive a visit from a second victim. “A second 22-year-old man came forward saying that a little earlier, the individual we had just arrested had hit him in the chest with a broken bottle for no reason,” said a police source. The parade did not stop there, since shortly after, it was a third man, aged 21, who came to solicit the police. “He said that he had met the same man a few minutes earlier, that he had asked him for a cigarette and that when he refused, he hit him in the head with a broken bottle”.
The results: the wound of the first victim injured in the thigh required four stitches in the thigh. The second 22-year-old man, injured in the chest, was treated with three stitches. As for the last victim of 21 years, he was prescribed two days of temporary interruption of work (ITT). If the first two victims did not wish to file a complaint, the third man took the plunge. Their 17-year-old attacker was taken into custody for acts of violence and will be brought before the juvenile court on Monday, July 13.
