23rd edition of the People and Music Festival at the Cinema in Toulouse!
Festival Peuples et Musiques au Cinéma returns from June 17 and 19 for a 23rd edition at the Cinémathèque de Toulouse.
Created by Claude Sicre (who has just released his latest title in duet with Francis Cabrel), more than 20 years ago, this festival aims to introduce the general public to the peoples of the world and their music through the 7th art.
This new edition will take place for the first time in concert with the events of the Forum des Langues du Monde and Rio Loco in order to offer Toulouse residents a weekend resolutely turned towards the cultures of the Peoples of the world.
For this new part, PMC gives a nod to Rio Loco by highlighting the music of Portugal in its programming!
For this 2022 edition, more than ten screenings (including two for children), a film-concert, two concerts… are scheduled. Each screening will be like every year followed by a conservation with the guests (directors, journalists, musicians, representatives of the peoples concerned).
On the entertainment side, activities are also offered throughout this festive weekend in the courtyard of the Cinematheque: Basque, Thai or Colombian dance, songs from Chile, Gospel… The Cellar of Poetry will host a concert as part of the PMC Festival. On the catering side, visitors could eat with “Les Petits Plats d’Eva” (lunch and dinner).
On the guest side, as every year, personalities (musicians, ethnomusicologists, videographers, directors, etc.) will be present to animate the debates which will follow the screenings: Vincent Ségal, Bernard Lortat-Jacob, Vladimir Cagnolari, Hervé Bordier, Xavier Vidal, Georges Luneau, Laure Subreville, Pascal Caumont, Jean Pendant and Sylvie Marchand.
See you from June 17 to 19 in Toulouse for this beautiful 23rd edition of the Festival Peuples et Musiques au Cinéma.
