who comes first in the constituencies of Rouen?
The 1st round of the legislative elections took place this Sunday, June 12, 2022. Which candidates came out on top in the constituencies where Rouen is located? Which ones will face each other during the 2nd tour scheduled for June 19th? The results of the two Seine-Maritime constituencies concerned can be found in this article.
This Sunday, June 12, the Rouennais have chosen the candidates – as part of the 1st round of the 2022 legislative elections – who will face each other in the 2nd round, on June 19. Divided into 8 cantons, the city of Rouen is integrated into the 1st and 3rd district of Seine-Maritime. In the 1st, the outgoing deputy Damien Adam (Renaissance, ex LREM) puts his mandate on the line, in particular against Maxime Da Silva (Nupes / LFI), new hope of the party where Mélenchon had achieved very good scores in the presidential election.
As for the 3rd constituency, it did not give in to the “LREM wave” in 2017 since it appointed MP Hubert Wulfranc (PCF / Nupes), who is also putting his candidacy in play. It remains to be seen whether voters will once again elect a communist candidate or prefer the dissident PS Kader Chekhemani.
On April 10, the Rouennais voted in the first round of the presidential election for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Emmanuel Macron (in second position). In the second round, the outgoing president won by a wide margin with 76.24% of the votes cast against 23.76% for Marine Le Pen.
