This is clearly reflected in the many amateur films that ordinary Dutch people make. Women born in the early years of the movie camera are not allowed to vote. They become and get married, have children to the household. Pants are not allowed. They do work, as a maid, teacher or nurse. It was not until well into the 1960s that a change in this view occurred. Dutch women dare to claim more space for themselves.

After two away matches, the Netherlands will play the first home game of the third edition of the Nations League tonight, against Poland in De Kuip. The match can be seen live on NPO 1 from 8.45 pm and the livestream via Gids.tv. The Orange has started the Nations League strongly with two victories, but there was a world of difference between those victories. On Friday, Belgium was knocked off the mat and defeated with no less than 1-4. On Wednesday, a B-team – with eleven other names – was allowed to compete in and against Wales. It was an extremely difficult one in the final phase, won a goal by Wout Weghorst: 1-2. With Wales still battling for a ticket to the World Cup in Qatar during the first Nations League weekend, Poland has only had one game behind them. He must have given it little confidence, because the Belgians were eager for revenge after the humiliating defeat against the Netherlands. Poland was the direct object and was defeated with no less than 6-1.
