It is finally something that Romania is breaking up, but Hungary is breaking up better
It has compiled a ranking of the competitiveness of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus in the emerging-europe.com portal. The Travel Competitiveness Index lists 23 countries, which are ranked according to a complex set of criteria.
Romania was ranked third, followed only by Poland and Hungary I love you. It is immediately followed by Croatia, followed by Estonia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, Lithuania and Montenegro. It is a mystery how Romania, which is practically insignificant in international tourism, was able to achieve a podium position, as the authors of the study did not disclose which aspects were taken into account.
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), in the last year before the outbreak of the coronavirus, in 2019, 12.8 million foreign tourists visited Romania and the number of guest stays was 30 million. Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Poland were significantly more attractive, with 33, 57, 91 and 93 million guest nights, respectively. There were 27 million guest nights in Bulgaria.
