Toulouse: After the cable car breakdowns, passengers wonder about the reliability of Téléo
With several breakdowns in less than a month, some Téléo passengers are worried. They wonder in particular about the reliability of the installation, but also about the safety of the gondola.
Despite the rather calm weather, Jeanne is not imposed very reassured. Sitting aboard Téléo’s cabin, she clings as soon as she feels the slightest shock. The retiree, who is used to going to Rangueil hospital via the cable car, still has a little apprehension. “The worst is when it’s raining or it’s windy. I prefer to take my car. It reassures me, ”says the Toulousaine.
Following numerous breakdowns, some users are beginning to question Téléo’s reliability. For the most part, it is not the safety that is of concern, but rather the efficiency of this type of transport. “I don’t want to be late all the time,” fears Raphaël. Going up to the Paul Sabatier station, this student in STAPS heard about the breakdowns of the cable car. “I know it’s one of the safest transportations in the world. What bothers me, though, is if he ever stops often. It can make me late or outright make me miss classes, ”says the student.
A journey without any fear
for most passengers
While some have questions about safety or the speed of the cable car, most passengers admit not to worry about it. This is the case of Georgia who wanted to present the route to her friend Lou. Both students, these Toulousaines didn’t hesitate for a second before getting into the gondola: “We don’t ask ourselves any questions about safety. We know it can withstand wind and other conditions. Rather, I find that Téléo is an interesting and useful form of transport,” says Georgia. The two students are used to cable cars in the mountains and therefore have no fear when taking the urban cable car.
