Toulouse: the municipal mutual gains members
The 500th member of the Toulouse municipal mutual insurance company was invited to the Capitole, an opportunity to introduce other seniors to this municipal offer.
“You are the heroine of the day”, exclaimed Jean-Luc Moudenc, mayor of Toulouse when he welcomed Marcelle Cabanès, 500th member of the municipal mutual fund. The octogenarian was received this Wednesday, June 8 in the Gervais room of the Capitol by the mayor, his deputy health delegate, Patricia Bez and Philippe Mixe, president of the mutual Just. Entering into force at the start of 2022, this partnership between the city and the mutual Just allows Marcelle to save 400 euros per year. “My old mutual was too expensive so a month ago I opted for that one. They took care of everything,” says the member who discovered this option through documentation sent to her club.
Jean Luc Moudenc’s campaign promise aimed at countering the damage caused by the decline in purchasing power, the municipal mutual fund targets seniors. “At retirement, there is a significant reduction in income which is accompanied by an increase in health problems and the cost of complementary, this creates a scissor effect”, he explains. To benefit from mutual insurance, being a Toulousain over 60 is a necessity, but you must also have an income of less than 1800 euros net monthly. The number of members of this “first in Toulouse” delights the mayor who recalls that the municipal mutual has only existed for five months. “From the start, it started off with a bang and I think we can expect 1,000 members before November,” added the president of the Just mutual fund. A forecast which is accompanied by the project to set up an agency in the pink city.
The arrival of Marcelle was, according to Jean-Luc Moudenc, the opportunity to continue to address other Toulouse residents. “There are plenty who would meet the criteria, our objective is to make them aware of the mutual”, he attributed. The partnership was signed for a renewable period of two years.
