Howard Carter will start match 4 between Elan Béarnais and Monaco
For match 4 of the Betclic ELITE playoff semi-finals between Elan Béarnais and AS Monaco, which promises to be exceptional, the EBPLO has decided to pay tribute to one of its legends. This is Howard Carter (60 years old) who will perform the fictitious jump ball at the start of the match.
Drafted 15th by the Denver Nuggets, he spent a season in Colorado before signing a half-season with the Dallas Mavericks. He then joined Elan Béarnais from 1985 to 1989 before experiencing a ruptured Achilles tendon at the start of the 1989-1990 season which kept him away from the courts for a whole season. The following year, he signed with Châlons-en-Champagne, a club which helped him to go up to the second ivision. He returned to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques the following season and remained at the club until 1995. In total, he won the French championship three times in 1986, 1987 and 1992 under the colors of Pau. In terms of statistics, he is the 4th best scorer in the history of the club and the 1st in terms of average.
This Thursday evening, he will also find his former teammate Eric Bartecheky, with whom he played in Châlons-Reims.
