Why has the Téléo cable car broken down again?
Small start delay for the cable car Teleothis Wednesday morning in Toulouse. It only boarded its first passengers at 7:57 a.m. instead of 5:15 a.m. “The distance between the cabins was not in conformity. Therefore, the system is put in safety, the time to find the required space between the cabins. We are still in a phase of adjustments”, explained shortly after Jean-Michel Lattes, the president of Tisséo Collectivités.
This is the second outage for the designated line on Friday May 13. The first came six days after go-live and was related to “a bug in the operating software update.” A third stop, more classic, took place on Saturday June 4 due to the orange storm alert.
“Tourist Effect”
Despite these upheavals, the start of Téléo is judged by Tisséo as “quite remarkable”, with an availability rate of 97.77% from May 14 to 31. As of June 6, it had recorded more than 140,000 paying validations, to which are added the 50,000 boardings of the first open weekend. On average, 7,000 to 7,500 passengers board the cabins each day, which is in line with expectations.
“The tourist effect” produced by this opportunity to fly over part of the Pink City is undeniable: the attendance record per hour was recorded on Ascension Thursday, with more than 9,000 passengers.
