Kinga Gál: Hungary will do its utmost to build peace
Hungary is doing its best to bring peace to Ukraine, we were ready to make sacrifices, we supported five packages of EU sanctions, the sixth on the condition that Russia’s oil embargo does not apply to pipeline transport because it would have had catastrophic consequences for Hungary – Gál said. Kinga, an EU parliamentarian for Fidesz, said in a press release to MTI in Strasbourg on Wednesday.
The MP said that at the last EU summit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had succeeded in defending the overhead cut, was the only leader in the interests of Hungarian families and was working for a common solution for unity.
According to Kinga Gál, more and more places in Europe are hearing that serious economic problems are expected. “Europe must not be worse off than Russia after the imposition of sanctions, it must not do more harm to our own peoples. This should be the main consideration when making decisionsSaid the MP.
The politician added: Hungary strongly condemns the laws of war, they cannot go unpunished, Russian aggression cannot be defended. He emphasized that Hungary is assisting Ukraine, receiving about 10,000 refugees a day and carrying out one of the largest humanitarian operations in its history.
He also pointed out that Hungary does not support sanctions against church leaders because such measures make it difficult to bring about peace.
