Belgians recover in Brussels with a big win over Poland
Belgium has recovered in the Nations League from last Friday’s defeat against the Orange. Five days after the loss against the Netherlands (1-4), the Belgians won, where Vitesse attacker Loïs Openda graced his debut with a goal, in Brussels with no less than 6-1 against Poland.
Belgium still lagged behind in the King Baudouin Stadium when Robert Lewandowski set the Poles up in just under half an hour. The Bayern Munich striker, who is looking for a departure from Germany, deftly tapped with the left.
On the stroke of rust, the Belgians equalized via Axel Witsel, who hit from the edge of the sixteen-meter area. After an hour Kevin De Bruyne made it 2-1 on the indication of Eden Hazard and Leandro Trosard, who had come in shortly before, lifted it to two more than fifteen minutes before the end: 3-1. Trossard also accounted for the fourth goal. After taking a corner himself, he got the ball back and curled it nicely into the top corner.
With a shot from distance, defender Leander Dendoncker made it 5-1 and Open chose the final score with a marker in the final minute. Openda, who was missing against the Orange because of a suspension, came in the squad for Michy Batshuayi in the 84th minute.
The Belgians will play against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday and will face Poland again on Tuesday, which started the Nations League with a 2-1 win over Wales.
