new victory for the Serenity team
The Riviera Water Bike Challenge, organized by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, took place on Sunday June 5 in the presence of Prince Albert II, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.
A second victory for the Serenity team! Composed of Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, Terence Parkin, Ambassador of the Foundation, Caleb Ewan, Philip Deignan and David Tanner, the team won the Riviera Water Bike Challenge 2022, after a first success in 2018 .
The kick-off was given by the Sovereign at 10:10 a.m., at the Yacht Club. 22 laps and 2h50 later, the teams reached the finish line in the Port of Monaco. No less than 41 celebrities were divided into the 19 different teams.
At the end of the competition, the Prince presented the trophy to the winning team Serenity. The A&S Estate team, consisting of Edgard John Augustin (Bionic Body) and Greg Minnaar, came in second place. Third place, meanwhile, was won by Interpadel, of which Bjørn Maaseide, Ambassador of the Foundation, Thor Hushovd and Federico Vella are part.
The objective of this competition was to raise funds for the “Swim For Safety” project to teach swimming and water safety to underprivileged children in Sri Lanka. The public could donate by voting for their favorite team.
In the afternoon, Stéphanie Barneix, under the banner of the Cap Optimist expedition, left Monaco for Athens. She and her team should arrive in 15 days, after traveling 1800 km.
