Installed in L’Isle-Jourdain (Gers), the first bicycle assembly plant in Occitanie will begin delivering to its customers in 2023. The initiator of this Vélo Factory, Denis Briscadieu, does not, however, want to put the cart before the horse. . Its objective is not to mass-produce tens of thousands of cycles to meet rapidly expanding demand. It sold more than 2.6 million bikes in France last year, while barely 70,000 are made in France. At the head of more than 120 shops specializing in bicycles, the boss of the Cyclelab group weighs nearly 10% of the market.
